We’re delighted to have been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Third Sector Awards 2017, which recognise and celebrate those who work to give something back to their community.
We’ve been chosen as a finalist in the Communications Agency Campaign of the Year category for the pro bono work we undertook to fundraise on behalf of the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity (DVLCC) and to also mark the great lady’s 100th birthday earlier in the year.
As well as launching the #VERA100 campaign, which saw us heavily promote and produce all the marketing collateral for a variety show which took place at the London Palladium in honour of the Forces Sweetheart, we also organised a surprise spectacle on the White Cliffs of Dover on Dame Vera’s birthday. Huge replica bluebirds were placed on top of the cliffs, a Spitfire flyover took place and WWII veterans performed a military salute.
With an aim of generating a minimum of £10,000 to enable DVLCC to purchase a ‘magic carpet’ to help the children it supports, the campaign was a huge success and over £60,000 was raised.
Peter Sutton, Managing Director, commented, “At PMW we have been big supporters of the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity for a number of years and we were delighted to be involved with the celebrations to mark Dame Vera’s 100th birthday and raise money for her charity.
“It was a lot of hard work, but our team were amazing at working together to ensure a great deal of money was raised. Being shortlisted in the Third Sector Awards certainly highlights this. We look forward to attending the awards ceremony and celebrating the fantastic work completed by all the other finalists.”
A team from PMW will be attending the Third Sector Awards Ceremony on Thursday 21st September at the London Marriott Hotel when the winners will be announced.
