We are the proud owners of two Business Matters awards!

We pride ourselves on doing an exceptional job for our clients and love to receive feedback on our work. So, you can imagine the excitement here at PMW HQ when we returned from this year’s Business Matters awards ceremony armed with no less than two shiny gongs.

We were honoured to be named the winner of the Outstanding Contribution to the Community and Medium-Sized Business.

These coveted awards celebrate business excellence within the circulation of the Horsham County Times and Crawley Observer newspapers. The event is an opportunity to recognise local companies’ achievements in their respective fields, whether it’s demonstrating growth, innovation or charitable work.

The awards ceremony took place on Friday 10th November at the Hilton Hotel, Gatwick, in a glittering black-tie event. On the night, our MD Peter Sutton was joined by colleagues Gina Hollands, Graham Walker and Jamie Forsyth, all suitably dressed to impress. The team relished the opportunity to rub shoulders with other leading lights of the business community, and were delighted to carry off both awards against such tough competition.

The accolades recognised our local charitable work and the successive growth of our business. From the very beginning, almost 25 years ago, we have been proud to work and live in the county we love, and continue to fly the flag for Sussex through the business connections we’ve developed and the work opportunities we’ve created.

We take our responsibility to the community very seriously. The Outstanding Contribution to the Community award focused on our pro bono work for Dame Vera Lynn’s Cuckfield-based Children’s Charity (DVLCC), which supports children with cerebral palsy and other motor learning difficulties. We came up with the idea of organising a surprise spectacle on the White Cliffs of Dover to commemorate Dame Vera’s 100th birthday. The event raised £70,000 for the charity, achieved international publicity and trended worldwide on social media for two days.

As we know, it’s better to give than to receive so we were also thrilled to support other local companies at the Business Matters event. The Innovation award, sponsored by us, showcases organisations that successfully apply innovation to impact the bottom-line. The award was won by AlcoDigital, the UK’s leading drug and alcohol safety experts. RMV, a video production company, was Highly Commended.
