Sussex students attend our first ever virtual work experience

Students from Tanbridge House School in Horsham have completed a week’s remote work experience with us.

Our annual work experience programme has been exposing teenagers to the disciplines of a full-service marketing agency for over 10 years and, despite the pandemic, we wanted to still be able to offer this vital life lesson.

Over the course of five days, Natalia Pietkun, Anna James, Abi McGee, Jay Fellows, and Samuel Norman were tasked with creating a marketing plan for a fictitious school open day and a celebration for the end of remote learning.

Mentored by PMW department heads, the students learnt about account management, PR, radio, advertising, design, social media, and website development. The week ended with online presentations from the students to our MD Peter Sutton, Senior Account Executive Kerrie Betteridge, and Tanbridge House School’s Headteacher, Jules White.

Jules White, said: “PMW are terrific supporters of our students and this opportunity provided an exciting chance for pupils to gain an insight into the creative marketing industry.  It was great for the students to have something really positive to look forward to during these difficult times.”

Peter Sutton, added: “It has been a fantastic week of learning for our five students. Seeing the quality of work they produced demonstrates how important it was for us to give these children this online experience. It also proves how well all generations can now work collaboratively while remote. We hope we have inspired the students to consider a career in marketing.”
