PURRFECT FOR A NATIONAL PET RETAILER
Brief
Pets Corner is an ethical pet retail chain with over 160 stores across the UK. Following its appearance on Channel Four’s ‘Undercover Boss’, PMW was originally employed by Pets Corner to increase its brand awareness through a programme of PR and social media. Our relationship grew to incorporate a wider range of our marketing services.
Overview
PMW provided Pets Corner with social media management, PR, advertising, copywriting, events management and design.
Why PMW?
As a marketing agency with extensive knowledge and expertise, we were able to fulfill Pets Corner’s national marketing requirements under one roof. Results
Barking up the right tree
PMW’s job was to raise the profile of Pets Corner at national, regional and local levels, establishing it as a family business that genuinely cares about animals.
We achieved this through an ongoing PR campaign encompassing company news, product placement, pre-planned initiatives, and human (and animal!) interest stories.
Our creative content was well received, generating widespread coverage. Focusing on animal charities and pet care, our stories were highly effective in engaging public interest and building Pets Corner’s reputation as an ethical and caring organisation.
During Pets Corner’s acquisition of Pampurred Pets, we handled all of the company’s media communications, including liaising with journalists, providing relevant comment and organising interviews on its behalf.
We secured broadcast coverage on Sky News, Radio 4, and regional radio stations, and in publications including the Financial Times, The Times, i newspaper, Daily Mail, The Sun, Mail Online, and Your Dog Magazine among many others.
Tweet, tweet!
PMW provided social media management and advertising for Pets Corner and a number of its product brands.
To boost brand awareness, our team created engaging and relevant content for several profiles across multiple platforms. This included company announcements, product news, and competitions.
Our content was supplemented by a series of targeted advertising campaigns and resulted in an impressive uplift in engagement and following.
We also provided full customer support, acting as point of contact for customer queries and complaints.
Making a splash
Our talented design team created online and print press advertising for Pets Corner to promote their products.
Using our illustration, design and copywriting skills we launched a series of eye-catching adverts featuring fun facts linked to the company’s product offering.
These aimed to differentiate Pets Corner as an ethical pet retailer, dispelling customer preconceptions about pet retail practices.
To help maximise visibility, we secured prime space for the adverts in a variety of press publications and online.
Copy cat
Our copywriters produced sparkling copy for Pets Corner across a range of channels, including clear and informative copy for the company’s website.
We were able to arm Pets Corner with a series of interesting and relevant blogs on animal care, products, seasonal articles and more. This content helped to keep the site fresh and improve its search engine ranking.
Leading the way
PMW managed the official opening events of several new Pets Corner stores, from planning the launch day to inviting journalists and issuing press releases.
We also believed Pets Corner should be recognised for its work in the sector, and provided the means necessary for it to enter the Pet Industry Federation Awards.
Using our expertise in writing and submitting award entries, we put together a compelling case for the company to win.
In the three years we managed Pets Corner’s awards entries, it won Pet Retailer of the Year every time, helping to gain the company significant positive PR from a trade and consumer perspective.
Best in show
PMW’s design team produced a range of retail packaging for several of Pets Corner’s product brands, including Fur Fixer and Great&Small.
Working on products such as grooming tools, dog toys and beds, we managed the process from initial concept to delivery of print-ready files.
The development process involved packaging concept, design, illustration, image retouching and copywriting.
