Senior Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION

At PMW, we’re a creative bunch. We support our clients with websites, graphic design, PR, advertising campaigns and digital marketing requirements. Working with a diverse range of industries, from big-name financial and insurance companies to event venues, schools, charities and tech innovators, the chance to work on new, exciting and fast-paced projects is endless.

We’re looking for a bold and talented Senior Designer to join the team on a permanent basis. Often working to tight deadlines while overseeing multiple projects, we need a highly organised problem solver who can deliver multiple briefs on time and on budget.

Applicants must also have in-depth knowledge of the digital, design and print processes and, ideally, will have experience working within an agency or as part of an in-house team.

Responsibilities

  • Design: We’ll rely on you to turn design briefs into innovative, creative concepts for all marketing channels.
  • Brand: You’ll ensure that the organisation’s or client’s creative output/visuals are consistent with our/their overall brand. You’ll have experience in brand development from concept to rollout across multiple media touchpoints.
  • High-stakes pitching: You’ll take ownership of major pitches, presenting compelling creative solutions to clients, internal teams and stakeholders at all levels with confidence and strategic thinking.
  • Innovation & trends: You have a deep understanding of emerging design trends, tools and techniques. You’ll introduce innovative ideas, drive creative experimentation and guide the team in adopting new design methodologies.
  • Mentorship: Alongside our Senior Creative Managers, you’ll provide guidance, feedback and mentorship to junior and middleweight designers, helping them to grow their skills and improve their creative output.

Requirements

Experience: Proven experience in a senior design role within an agency setting would be preferable.

Portfolio: A standout portfolio showcasing a diverse range of high-quality design projects, demonstrating expertise in concept development, multi-platform execution and innovation in branding, digital and motion design.

Design pro: Fluent in the Adobe Creative suite, focusing on Premier Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, XD/Figma and Microsoft Suite. Experience in 3D & 4D design would be preferable but not essential.

UX/UI & digital proficiency: A strong understanding of front-end design constraints (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), accessibility best practices (WCAG guidelines), and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers to create seamless, user-centric digital experiences.

Global mindset: Experience working across multiple markets and audiences, collaborating with teams and suppliers worldwide.

Confident communicator: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to articulate creative ideas, design rationale and strategic concepts to stakeholders, clients and internal teams. Able to provide constructive critique and guide creative discussions with clarity and confidence.

Team player: A collaborative mindset and thrives in team-oriented environments while taking ownership of creative projects.

Cultural buff: You have a good grasp of art, design, photography, pop culture and current events. You’re in the know about what’s happening in the world.

What we’ll do for you …

  • 25 days holiday + bank holiday (increasing with service)
  • Paid day off on your birthday
  • Flexible hours
  • Early finish on a Friday
  • Free onsite parking
  • Beautiful semi-rural office
  • Free gym membership
  • Optional ride-to-work scheme

This is an incredible opportunity to join an exciting, award-winning and vibrant full-service marketing agency. So, what are you waiting for?

Hours: Mon – Fri, between 9am – 5.30pm (37.5 hours per week)

Hybrid working: A minimum of 3 days in the office per week after successfully completing the probationary period.

Location: Billingshurst office with free parking. Please note a driver’s licence is not mandatory but would probably be preferential for the employee to hold due to the rural location of the office.

Interview process

First round: Interviews will take place at our office in Billingshurst.
Second round: Invitation to trial day.
A potential third-round interview may be required, but expenses would be covered if necessary.

Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 depending on experience

Contact: Please send a CV, portfolio and covering letter to harriet.swetman@pmwcom.co.uk.
