Peter talks Christmas ads on BBC Radio Sussex

With 25 years of experience in creating memorable advertising campaigns, our MD Peter Sutton knows what it takes to make an ad stand out for all the right reasons. So he was delighted to be invited onto the BBC Radio Sussex breakfast show this month to discuss the latest serving of Christmas TV ads.

There was much to mull over this year, including the controversy surrounding the banned Iceland ad and the much anticipated tear-jerker from John Lewis starring Elton John. Estimated to cost around £7 million, John Lewis’s offering signifies the importance placed on this annual loyalty-building advertising race to the top, aimed at reviving the retail industry after a particularly tough year.

Peter and Breakfast Show presenter Neil Pringle discussed the impact a successful ad can have on a brand, and the role of social media in deciding between success and failure. But what was Peter’s take on the Elton extravaganza? If you didn’t catch the interview live, there’s still time to listen again – the interview is at the 2 hour 28 minute mark.
