What’s the festive season really like here at PMW?

The trees are up, the lights are twinkling and we’ve all indulged in at least three mince pies already this week (it’s only Monday!).  Yes, the festive season is upon us.  The lead up to Christmas is one of the busiest times of year here at PMW HQ.  Here’s a snapshot of what we get up to:

Events Galore

As retail is one of our core specialisms, December is all go for our events team.  We represent a number of shopping centres all over the country from Cumbria to Bognor Regis, and are responsible for launching Christmas for all of them.  This means organising visits from Santa, decorating grottos, creating winter wonderlands (complete with real snow!) and arranging for a plethora of events to take place, from tap dancing turkeys to mischievous elves.

In one of our centres, the theme was ‘A Dickensian Christmas’.  We dressed an empty unit as a scene from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, and invited local children to a very special rendezvous with Santa Claus.  Each child came along with a question for Santa, which included ‘How do you read the letters from children who speak different languages?’ and ‘How many carrots does Rudolph get through on Christmas Eve?’

The famous PMW Christmas party

We might know how to work hard, but we’re no strangers to a good party too.  The PMW Christmas party is an ideal time for the team to bond over a glass or two of bubbles and a bit of a boogie.  This year we’ll be descending en masse to a beautiful old farmhouse in the Sussex countryside for the weekend.  Cin cin!

Secret Santa

As our 25th year in business comes to a close we’ll be observing one of our favourite company traditions (here at PMW, we’re suckers for a tradition) – that of Secret Santa!

Just before leaving for our Christmas party, we all squeeze into our boardroom and everyone receives a present from a colleague, anonymously of course – well, in theory.

Last year’s gifts included an eyebrow grooming kit, the Highway Code (dodgy parking in the car park, perhaps?), games, jewellery and everyone’s favourite – edible gifts.

So, to sum up what the festive season is really like at PMW, it’s probably fair to say: happy, productive and traditional.  We wish for you the same (although tap dancing turkeys are optional), and hope you have a stunning start to the new year.

Next year is set to be one of the most exciting to date for us, as in 2019 we’ll be expanding our offices to over double their current size.  With a modern and welcoming new interior, it’ll be all change here as far as décor goes, but of course we’ll still – and always – stick to our Christmas traditions!

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM ALL OF US AT PMW!
