Under one roof and onshore – how we do everything in-house

Long-distance relationships are hard and when frequent calls are replaced with radio silence, you know it’s time for a breakup. But what if you’re being ignored by the people you have paid to do your marketing?

Many marketing agencies subcontract out elements of their work to offshore contractors to help them through busy periods or fill gaps in expertise. In theory, this might seem like a good solution, particularly because it can be cheaper for both the agency and the client. In reality – not so effective.

A long chain of reliance, time differences and language barriers can all make it difficult for agencies and subcontractors to work together, create an effective campaign and deliver it on schedule. Add on the client’s evolving needs and amendments, and the result is a logistical nightmare.

At PMW, we believe our secret weapon for building great, long-lasting relationships with our clients is that we are a full-service marketing agency that does everything in-house and onshore. Here’s why it works:

You know where we live

Contractors could disappear and stop answering the phone. When this happens, it is almost impossible to hold them to account – long-haul flight anyone?

It’s a difficult thing for agencies to admit to their customers, meaning you’re left in the dark about what’s going on. Sourcing a new contractor causes frustrating delays and further expense, which can trickle down to the client.

Being an agency that does everything in-house means we have nowhere to hide (not that we ever would!). We won’t fall of the radar and there will always be someone in the office and at the end of the phone.

We’re a pretty good team

We’re a close-knit team and we have a real-life office – some of us are even friends. That means we conduct most of our internal meetings in-person and can get hold of one another whenever we need to.

Experience has shown us that collaboration is absolutely invaluable when it comes to generating ideas, managing budgets and keeping on schedule.

We get to know the ‘real you’

A successful marketing campaign tells a clear story that resonates with its customers and delivers a cohesive message across all platforms.

When a campaign is a patchwork of ideas from several unrelated contractors, it shows.

We allocate a dedicated cross-departmental team to each client. Ongoing retainers are always managed by the same people, and we’re not starting from scratch each time you want to launch a new campaign. It helps you get to know us too, which saves everyone time and money in the long run. More importantly it means that we really get to know your business, crafting campaigns that tell your story and elevate your brand.

You get the quality you pay for

PMW might not be the cheapest agency you can find, but you do get what you pay for – and more.

We can vouch for the qualifications, experience and knowledge of everyone on our team and encourage regular professional development training. Frequent client catch-ups mean that the people working on your account understand exactly what you need.

While the upfront costs of going with a cheaper agency might look appealing, you will probably end up paying more in the long run when the work isn’t up to scratch. And that’s not to mention that a more effective campaign will generate more leads, more sales and a better ROI (return on investment).

Driven by the desire to create the very best user experience for clients, Peter founded PMW almost 30 years ago, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the media and marketing industry.

Peter has led the creative team on numerous high-profile projects with clients including Sony, Born Free, British Heart Foundation, and Disney, to name but a few.

His hard work and dedication to clients has led to incredible results, winning acclaim and awards along the way. The small business he created now employs more than 30 staff and is a great source of pride to Peter.

He cites working on a millennium project to create the world’s largest time vault and organising Dame Vera Lynn’s 100th birthday celebrations among the highlights of his distinguished career.

A former athlete – excelling at both discus and shotput – these days dad of two Peter prefers to explore the countryside with his wife, Sandra, and their two labs, Oscar and Ash. He still finds time to complete the odd challenge though, taking on the gruelling Three Peaks and a blister-busting 100k non-stop walk from Putney to Henley, raising thousands of pounds for charity.
